Abstract
This brief article for the Intelligence Analyst Training Newsletter explains the difference between confirmation bias and positive-test bias. The former is often discussed in the context of training for intelligence analysts, but the latter is seldom if ever discussed. Because positive-test bias is often mislabeled as confirmation bias, this article was written to clarify the difference.
