Abstract
Short-term Fourier Fransforms (STFT) are a time-frequency representation of signals. They show how the spectrum of a signal changes as a function of time. Since these STFT's ar 2-D objects similar to images, it is attractive to apply image processing techniques on them. Mathematical morphology is an image processing methodology which has been highly successful in the field of computer vision. The goal of this report is to explore the applicability of such a methodology to STFT.
