Abstract
Shallow water acoustic propagation loss data and associated descriptive information have been organized through a data management program (DMP) called SWDB (Shallow Water Data Base). The data base is structured to allow queries, using the DMP, so that specific propagation loss data can be identified through the use of the LIST, SEARCH and GET commands. Propagation loss versus range, frequency, depth, hydrophone position and channel number may be presented through the use of the PLOT command. Data is entered into the data base through the use of the LOAD command. All data contained within the data base may be modified throught the use of the EDIT command. Assistance may be obtained for commands using the HELP command and for keywords using the LISTKEYWORDS command. The program is ended using one of the END, EXIT, QUIT, or Q commands.
