- Abstract
- The reprot describes the continued development of a computer program for predicting the effects of structural modifications on the dynamic response of structures. The forward modification problem of predicting changes in modal characteristics due to specified structural modifications has been implemented in a computer program called STRUM. The program interfaces to the general purpose finite element program VAST and has been updated to include all element capabilities in VAST relevant to the modification problem. The method of calculation is described and test problems results are presented. A discussion of these results provides a guideline for the use and performance of STRUM.
