Abstract
The Technical Report details the research and development of an underwater escape breathing system for use by Canadian Forces aircrew faced with the risk of water immerison and underwater escape from a downed aircraft. The report details preliminary investigation into: the U.S. Coast Guard Rebreather system, The Robertshaw Underwater Escape Breathing Systems, and the Submersible Systems Inc. (SSI) Emergency Breathing System (EBS); and the procurement, modifications, and testing of the SSI EBS for use by the CH124 Sea King aircrew, and subsequent recommendation for its adoption by the Canadian Forces.
