Abstract
The Department of National Defence (DND) has tasked GasTOPS Ltd. to investigate the feasibility of various proposed engine configurations for powered lift applications. Specifically, the augmentor wing (AW) concept, long advocated by de Havilland Aircraft of Canada, is under consideration for an advanced tactical transport aircraft capable of both high subsonic cruise speed and short take-off and landing (STOL) operations.
