Abstract
The Digital Data Transcriber and Display System is a COMPAQ 386 microcomputer based system for digitizing and displaying DREP supplied analog side scan sonar data. The digitizing component converts the analog sonar data to digital form, sending the data either to the COMPAQ 386 expanded memory or to a VAX/VMS system. The display component provides a high resolution graphics view of the sonar data. As well, an archiving facility is provided for saving the COMPAQ 386 expanded memory to the hard disk and a VAX/VMS program is supplied to accept the data supplied by the digitizing component. This document is divided into two parts - a programmer's guide and a user's guide. In turn, these two parts are each divided into sections for the digitizing, display, archiving, and VAX/VMS components.
