- Abstract
- Outlines the feasibility of achieving large depths with a towed body-faired cable system at moderate ship speeds. The concept of optimum towing is outlined together with the formula relating speed and depth to cable characteristics. Examples of current towing limits are given in graphical form. Recommendations on the means to achieve improved performance are stated.
