Abstract
A software package has been developed which implemnts a method for extracting uncalibrated ocean wave directional spectra from marine radar images of sea clutter. The package is written in VAX FORTRAN-77 and VAX MACRO-11, and can be used on any VAX computer running under the VMS operating system. Input to the package is a series of digitized radar screen photographs, and the main outputs are plots of the spectra produced. All data used by the software are stored in files of standard format, and these files are manipulated using the commands provided. Each command in the package implements a single step in the processing so that maximum flexibility is provided to the user. Plotting is done in a device independent manner, and instructions are given to allow the package to be used with any plotting device. All commands are described in detail, with example plots where appropriate.
