- Abstract
- The report describes work performed on VASGEN, the VAST general purpose finite element model generation program which is based on a parametric cubic modelling technique. A geometric database has been implemented to allow for user restarts and also to permit the generation of several finite element models from a single geometric model. The geometric modelling facilities have been enhanced, most notably with the addition of the Coons patch construction method. Among several meshing improvements made is the ability to generate stiffened surface models.
