Abstract
The study evaluated the blood lactate response to the CF EXPRES stepping exercise test. It also compared the ability of lactate and heart rate to predict maximum aerobic power. Military subjects, male and female, 30 years and older, were used in this study. The analysis of the data showed that the step test significantly raised blood lactate in males and females. The analysis further showed that lactate was a better predictor of maximal aerobic power than heart rate.
