Abstract
This report describes the design and construction of a potential difference (PD) system for unattended monitoring of sub-critical crack propagation in metal samples under fatigue loading conditions. The system consists of a commercially available constant current power supply, a power supply controller of in-house design, a low draft high gain amplifier of in-house design, and an MTS materials testing system under computer program control.
