Abstract
The research work undertaken in the contract has progressed more or less on schedule. Some work was carried out to extend the beam analysis in the program FENTAB (previous contract) to inlcude shear deformation. An extra shear degree of freedom was added at each beam finite element node and the theory in the program was suitably modified. The modified version was tested on simple linear static applications and was found to be correct. The program was further modified to include laminated composite materials.
