Abstract
In 1987 the poison ivy distribution at CFB Borden and MRTA was determined, as a first step toward the eventual control of the weed. An annotated bibliography on the biology and control of poison ivy was also prepared. Concurrently, a series of control options were tested, including both chemical and mechanical treatments, in a variety of habitats. The most cost effective chemical treatments were those already in use, amitrole and dicamba/2,4-D. The poison ivy survey and the results from the herbicide trials were used to produce a computerized data base, which described a five-year plan for the control of poison ivy.
