Abstract
A method for the chemical preparation of high purity AgO is described. Modifications to the thiosulphate titration method permitted rapid and accurate determination of AgO in the presence of contaminants such as Ag2CO3. The rates of decomposition of AgO were measured at various temperatures and humidities. Studies on charging efficiency of silver plates showed that maximum conversion (Ag to AgO) occurs at low charging current densities.
