Abstract
The development and evaluation of an experimental plot extractor is described. This equipment forms part of an experimental Automatic Detection and Tracking (ADT) system which was evaluated at sea. The report discusses the rationale behind the plot extractor design at the sub-system level. A discussion of the plot extractor evaluation is then presented. Part of this evaluation was performed using actual radar data recorded at sea. This work was performed as part of a task on ADT systems for use with maritime surveillance radars employing mechanically scanned antennas.
