Abstract
In response to a request from the Directorate of Establishment Requirements (DERE) and the Directorate of Food Services (D Food S) the Directorate of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS) has been studying the problem of determining a suitable baseline value for the average daily ration strength (ADRS) which is used in calculating food service staffing requirements at static units. The paper will propose an establishment criterion, developed for cooks and food service helpers, that can be used as a guide for Canadian Forces static units. Proposed will be a revised method of determining the minimum personnel requirements using the average daily ration strength as the workload factor.
