Abstract
The report is for the second phase of Tracker Comparison Research work performed by L.V. Ursel & Associates for DREO. The report for the first phase was published in April 1984 and covered early experiments on only two tracker designs. That report described the track generation design, Monte Carlo Simulator design, Statistics, and the experiment method used. The Monte Carlo simulator collects and reports on update, pass and run statistics which are used to assess the tracker performances. This second report deals chiefly with extensive comparison experiments on a total of six tracker designs. New statistics have been collected which greatly improve the comprehension and clarifies the comparison of the performance of the trackers.
