Abstract
A brief overview of the current theoretical approachs to the strain rate and temperature sensitive description of the behaviour of metals has been presented. Two methods of constructing a bi-linear hardening model which reflects strain rate effects, and in one case temperature effects have been identified. It is believed that the model which includes both strain rate and temperature effects is the best choice for the stated purpose over the strain rate and temperature ranges of interest.
