Abstract
Detection of hidden or buried munitions has been a topic of considerable interest for some time. This topic of initial interest for applications such as mine detection and range clearance has found increased interest due to the large number of terrorist incidents etc. The paper presents a review of the state-of-the-art in the detection of hidden and buried munitions. Acoustic, electromagnetic, optical, IR, nuclear and chemical techniques are briefly discussed and reviewed for potential and capability.
