- Abstract
- The report summarizes the research in computational methods for predicting the response of explosively loaded submarine hull panels. The prediction of pressure distribution during explosion bulge test is performed using a special purpose finite element code. The resulting pressure time history is used for non-linear finite element analysis of the steel panel. Four F.E. computer codes were evaluated. The comparisons of thinning versus depth of bulge between experimental and analytical results are presented in Section 4.0. Further work is required to improve and verify the accuracy of the pressure time input.
