Abstract
The ROSPEC (Rotating Neutron Spectrometer) System has proven itself to be the most accurate currently available to the NATO community. As a result a series of experiments was carried out at the critical facility at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) US to perform benchmark spectroscopy at various distances from the core. These distances included 170m, 400m free-field (the NATO standard reference point) and 400m in the NATO test-bed structure. The results are compared with other, more conventional systems, such as NE213. The ROSPEC results are observed to be the finest yet at APG in terms of energy resolution and dynamic range.
