Abstract
For the past year, the Directorate of Logistics Analysis (D Log A) of the Operational Research and Analysis Establishment (ORAE) has invested significant time and effort in acquiring knowledge in Expert Systems (ESs) and experimenting with an ES shell. The paper describes D Log A's initial efforts in prototyping a Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) Models Advisor. This system will be used to provide advice in choosing the LSA model best suited to determine the support requirements for a weapon system (WS). The requirements of an LSA Models Advisor is presented as well as the conceptual framework of the prototype is defined.
