Abstract
Instrumented pendulum and drop tower impact tests are used for the determination of fracture parameters under dynamic conditions. Such tests require accurate load/load point displacement data. The report describes the configuration and calibration of the DREP instrumented impact testing system. Methods of correcting load time data for strain gauge error and load-displacement data for machine compliance are described. Various static and dynamic calibration techniques for instrumented load/LPD energies are compared. The results indicate a good correlation between light flag, dial, low blow, and the instrumented load/LPD energy values.
