Abstract
The report gives a new method of passively localizing a moving source which is non-maneuvering and radiates a constant frequency tone. The required measurements are the doppler-shifted frequencies and their rates of change, taken at four or more sensors at separate locations. Due to the nonlinear nature of the problem, an analytical solution is not possible. Instead, a grid search on the three variables of source frequency, and x-y positions of the source, was performed. The grid point that produces the same source velocity at all sensors is chosen as the solution.
