- Abstract
- A summary of several DREP investigations have identified possible signal processing solutions to relevant problems in ultrasonic imaging, with specific reference to the inspection of composite laminates and bonded joints. For these materials, it is necessary to increase both the axial and lateral resolution of a B-scan image by the elimination of the transducer impulse response. It is also necessary to invert the effects of frequency dependent attenuation. A variety of techniques have been implemented and have been arbitrarily divided into the categories of one- and two-dimensional signal processing techniques.
