Abstract
A numerical method for evaluating the wave resistance, wave profile, and sinkage and trim of a surface ship with a transom stern is presented in this report. Based on the thin-ship and flat-ship theories, it is devised that a source system distributed on the longitudinal center-plane, a sink line along the transverse draft line of the transom stern and a sink plane on the bottom of the overhang aftbody are used. An efficient treatment of the Green function is utilized to speed up the computation. The iterative procedure is adopted to determine the final sinkage and trim.
