Abstract
The memorandum describes a fire propagation model in a structure having many compartments. The model uses Monte Carlo simulation to output fire probabilities in every compartment at chosen instants following the onset of fire in particular compartments. The input to this model mainly takes the form of a structural plan and time-dependent quantities such as the transition coefficients relating fire states in a single compartment or those controlling fire spread between compartments. Sprinklers and fire fighter's work are taken in account. A computer program implementing this model is also presented.
