Abstract
The objectives of this contract were to design, develop, trial and deliver, two-dimensional targets and target trailers for the BADGER mobile land target system to support anti-tank training in the Canadian Forces. The targets were to be visually representative of a 3/4 scale Soviet main battle tank in profile, incorporating infra-red (IR) radiation augmentation and capable of sustaining multiple direct hits from inert ATGM/TOW missiles. The target trailers designed and built for these targets were to be capable of surviving direct hits on the targets with live ATGM/TOW missile with minimal damage. As the targets and trailers are ultimately expendable, cost of the target system was to be maintained at minimal levels.
