Abstract
Benchmark experiments have been carried out to examine the effects of (anthropomorphic phantom) self-shielding on dosimeter response at the NATO standard test point, 400 m from the critical facility at Aberdeen Proving Ground (U.S.). These effects have been measured both free-field and inside a 2m x 2m x 2m steel box with 4" thick walls. The results are consistent with expected trends and limited theoretical calculations.
