Abstract
The study comprised two principal tasks, a review of the current State of the Art in applying reliability methods of analysis to ship structures and the demonstration of the methodology on two Canadian naval vessels i.e. a Tribal Class Destroyer and a Patrol Frigate. Several sources of readily available commercial software for performing reliability analyses were identified during the review and one of these packages, FORM, was subsequently used to conduct the demonstration of the method.
