VAST TO DESIGN CAD 3-D INTERFACE

Abstract
The report describes an interface program VASDAE for converting finite element model files in the finite element program VAST format into an International Graphics System (IGES) file format. This file can then be read by any CAD program which interfaces with IGES which, in this report, is Design CAD 3-D (DC3). VASDAE can also translate a DC3 generated geometric model, which has been converted by DC3 into IGES format, to a VASGEN data file. VASGEN is a VAST preprocessing program which can be used to mesh the geometric model with a finite element grid.
