Abstract
The paper describes the design of an electronic analog circuit developed to perform a mathematical integration of very low frequency waveforms. DREP is involved in many projects that require the towing of various packages behind a ship. Much effort has been expended in recent years to provide ship-motion compensation to the tow cable. The control signal necessary for such compensation is derived by performing a mathematical integration on a signal from an appropriately located accelerometer. The paper documents how, with modern high-precision integrated circuits, it is possible to perform the integration function in the analog regime, in real time, and with a high degree of accuracy.
