Abstract
The primary project task was to investigate the feasibility of reducing, and to reduce, the physical size of previously designed (DREA) signal conditioning electronics through the application of surface mount technology. The contract required the construction, testing, and delivery of 120 surface mount printed circuit boards. The contract amendment specified additional work: To investigate electrostatic sensitivity of the signal conditioning electronics and to select and procure a protection device and verify protection performance. To verify that the addition of the protection device has not compromised the self noise performance of the electronics circuit. To perform a system noise analysis at specified circuit points. All of these items are covered in this report.
