Abstract
The document provides a set of basic geometrical concepts and tools to program 3-D visual models on the Silicon Graphics IRIS computer. A section on elementary vector and matrix algebra for performing object manipulations and transformations in graphics coordinate systems is presented. This is followed by a section which introduces the primitive graphical operations which permit the development of simple graphical applications and simulations. The programming contents cover window usage, static and dynamic 2-D and 3-D modelling, hidden surface removal, double buffering and lighting models.
