Abstract
Two sets of concentration fluctuation profiles in grid turbulence and boundary layer shear flow have been measured to provide a high-quality data set suitable for testing theoretical models of intermittency, probability distributions and fluctuation intensity in plume dispersion. Concentrations that were non-zero only 0.2% of the time were accurately measured, allowing exploration of the far fringes of a plume several standard deviations in plume width from its centerline. Selected time series data sets have been prepared and supplied to the contractor for further analysis and interpretation.
