Abstract
A test sample-in the form of a document list-has been generated to enable library/information science school libraries to self-test their ability to provide documents for research and education in the field of librarianship and information science. Orr's recently developed Document Delivery Test was found applicable to this field as well as the previously tested field of biomedicine, but the greater number of non-serial items in this Test Sample increased the difficulty of verifying and editing the test items, and administering the test. The potential capability of the Document Delivery Test to indicate the ability of a library to deliver documents owned as well as those not owned is reduced when adequate interlibrary loan records do not exist to make it possible to estimate with a degree of confidence the borrowing time for documents not owned, as was the case with the two libraries used in this study.
