Abstract
The data rate of the COAMS towed array is sufficiently high that some form of data reduction or compression is a virtual necessity during the analysis of long experiments. This note describes the application of complex demodulation and decimation to hydrophone signals during tape transcription. The processing is fully digital and is performed on an array processor.
