Abstract
This document is a users guide for a simple software application called the CORA_Org_App which was first developed to create, modify, and validate hierarchical data in order to aid in the reformulation of the DND/CAF Program Alignment Architecture (PAA). The software is based on integrated usage of MS Access and MS Visio, both of which are desktop tools available to most users of the DefenceWide Area Network (DWAN). A main feature of the CORA_Org_App is that it can be used to explore and manipulate organizational structures graphically, which is typically easier than performing similar operations with hierarchical data that is stored in flat tabular formats. Additionally, the CORA_Org_App enables users to add or alter attributes of organizational entities (and the relationships between them) and then save all information in a centralized database. This first prototype of CORA_Org_App has been designed to work with organizational data exported from DND/CAF’s Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
