Abstract
Many public and private sector leaders are focusing on the value of risk assessments as one input into decision making for resource allocation to safety and security capabilities. They are asking themselves whether specialists and decision makers are incorporating the right risks and risk assessments into strategic planning and priority setting. This report explores some international perspectives and emerging concepts as a means to validate existing Centre for Security Science (CSS) practices, and to identify other ideas that could be applied to risk assessments on multiple levels.
