Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare and validate three currently-available bio-mathematical sleep prediction models using operational data collected on sailors’ work, rest schedule and fatigue onboard a Royal Canadian Navy vessel. Based on the comparison, the sleep model can be optimized and used to integrate the DRDC Fatigue Model (DFM) into a DRDC naval crewing analysis tool designated as the Simulation for Crew Optimization and Risk Evaluation (SCORE).
