Abstract
The Air Section generates operational research & analysis knowledge, tools and methodologies and applies them to aerospace power issues as they pertain to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces. The Air Section also conducts research in the area of decision sciences. By virtue of its focus on the aerospace power domain, the Air Section works primarily with the Air Force and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), as well as with other stakeholders in the department. Intended for section members and partners, this document describes the composition of the Air Section and its functions. It provides a common basis for understanding how operational research and analysis is formulated and delivered. It should facilitate suitable partnership arrangements that maximize responsiveness while ensuring the integrity of the science and advice offered by the section.
