Abstract
Advanced space-based radar data/product processing and exploitation techniques for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications have been investigated, customized and developed in this project. The project has been aligned with the Technical Investment Strategy (TIS) for improved automated or assisted ISR by using polarimetry and interferometry, and by developing advanced techniques and tools for automated target and feature recognition for the efficient use of sensor data in support of operations that consume huge volumes of sensor data. It has developed methodologies that exploit different modes of commercially available C- and X-band sensors for wide area surveillance and change detection, with particular emphasis on the maritime scene and arctic trafficability. This provides the CAF with advice and insight to the capability of current and next generation of commercial radar sensors.
