The DRDC spectro-polarimetric goniometer is an instrument conceived for the Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) measurement. The control software is a very complex piece of software, which contains several measurement and operation protocols, pre-programmed instrument behavior and several other functionalities. Fortunately for the user, all this complexity is buried in the computer code and a well design GUI, activated by the program grun, allows the user to control the instrument with only a few mouse clicks. This document describes and shows how to use this GUI. In the manual mode, the GUI can be used to control every goniometer elements. This user’s guide shows how to power on and initialize the instrument, how to do calibrations and measurements, how to archive results, etc. The user can also program a command file, which will be executed in the automatic execution mode, for the long sequences of unsupervised acquisitions. Finally, information is also provided about the system behaviors, file name coding and mnemonics, system error recovery, trouble shooting, etc., so, the user should have everything he need to operate this instrument.
