- Abstract
- The report attempts to assess the present and future condition of Saudi Arabia in terms of changes in elite groups in Saudi politics. The report suggests that the capacity of the regime to react and persist in the face of change may be limited. These problems may be reduced through dependence on an external "guarantor" - the U.S.; but the report indicates that this approach is in itself fraught with a different set of complexities which may prove to be excessively challenging for the regime.
