Abstract
Sea trial Q298 was the Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) part of a large-scale multilateral shallow water acoustics experiment, SW06, involving participants from over 20 research organizations. An important aspect of this trial was the application of Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA) techniques to obtain environmental measurements, that were then used to better understand sonar propagation. Here, the sets of experimental data acquired as part of Q298 are described, along with environmental data sets acquired by other participants in the SW06 experiment.
