Abstract
Experimental data are given on the morphology of several complex craters produced by the detonation of large TNT charges on the surface of alluvium at the Defence Research Establishment, Suffield, Canada. Primary attention is concentrated upon the Snowball Crater, the excavation of which is described in detail in terms of a diametral cross section along a system of displacement marker sand columns, and these displacement data are amplified by stratigraphic data. Comparable or supplementary data are given for several other explosive craters, particularly the Prairie Flat Crater. TRUNCATED
