Abstract
Six silane derivatives covering a wide range of boiling points were tested in composite explosives to improve the quality of the solid-binder interface. Mechanical spectroscopy was used to choose the most efficient silane derivative, silane A-174, y-methacryloxypropyl-trimethoxysilane. This silane was characterized against its efficiency to improve mechanical properties and processing parameters. A mixture of azolectine and silane A-174 gave the best overall results.
