Abstract
Experimental results are presented for the response of a 30 foot high lattice mast structure to air blast loading in the 628 ton AN/FO (ammonium nitrate - fuel oil) explosion known as Event Dice Throw which was held in October, 1976. The tubular seamless steel space frame mast, with an eccentric side antenna, responded in the elastic range under a free-field overpressure of 10 psi. No permanent deformations of the structure were observed. Analysis of the data generated has shown that there is a good agreement between measured results (both static and dynamic) and those predicted.
