Abstract
A breathing simulator system (BSS) of a novel design was fabricated and tested in 1975. BSS is capable of simulating the ventilation process, exhaled gas temperature and humidity, and CO2 production. However, it does not simulate the oxygen absorption. Its unique drive mechanism provides means for setting tidal volume within a broad range. Details of features and capabilities of the system are discussed. Operational, experimental and test data is also provided.
